Prof. Hadia ElHennawy Ain Shams University
Hadia M. EL-HENNAWYreceived the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 1972 and 1977 respectively. She received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the High Frequency Institute T.U. Braunschweig, Germany in 1982. She then joined the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University as an assistant professor. In 2004, she was appointed as the vice-dean for the graduate study and research. In 2005, she was appointed as the dean of the faculty of engineering, Ain Shams University. Since 1992, she has been the head of the Microwave & Antenna Research Lab (MARL) since 1982, she has published more than 100 journal and conference papers, she has supervised more than 50 Ph.D. and M.Sc. students, she was the editor in chief of the faculty of engineering, Ain Shams University, scientific bulletin from August 2004 to August 2005, she was the head of the steering committee of the Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS 03), and she is a member of the industrial communication committee in the national telecommunication regulatory authority (NTRA), educational engineering committee in the ministry of higher education, and space technology committee in the academy of scientific research. Prof. Elhennawy is an IEEE member and she is deeply involved in the Egyptian branch activities.
Prof. Ahmed Zaki Badr Ain Shams University
Ahmed Zaki Badr is the Chairman of Akhbar El-Youm Academy and professor of Automatic Control. Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. Prof. Badr was Minster of Education of Egypt and President of Ain Shams University. Dr. Badr obtained his Ph.D. , M.Sc. and B.Sc.. in Computer & Automatic Control Engineering from Ain Shams University in 1988, 1982,1978 respectively. Prof. Badr participated in the establishment of IDSC, where he was responsible of the modernization of IT in Egypt public sector. Dr. Badr was visiting researcher in INPG, France. His work on microprocessor based control system strengthened the relationship between INPG and Ain Shams University in the eighties

Prof. Ashraf Salem Mentor Graphics
Ashraf Salem is the Engineering Director in Mentor Graphics Egypt. He manages a group of 140 engineers working in the development of Emulation, Simulation Embedded Systems and Automotive products. Dr. Salem participated in the establishment of ANACAD branch in Egypt in 1995 that then has been acquired by Mentor Graphics and became one of the largest multinational development centers. Dr. Salem obtained his Ph.D. from Grenoble University, France in 1992. He got his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Ain Shams University in 1983, 1987 respectively. He published more than 100 scientific articles in the fields of Computer Aided design of Digital circuits. He chaired the technical committees in a number of international conference, and he supervised more than 20 PhD and M. Sc. thesis in digital design and Embedded systems. Also, he participated in a number of international research projects and developed one of the pioneer research product for circuit verification in the eighties. He was also the CEO of the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) and professor of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. Dr. Salem is participated in the establishment of Software Engineering Competence Center and Information Technology Institute in Egypt.
Eng. Hicham Arafa Valeo
Hicham Arafa is the R&D Director at Valeo Egypt managing all transversal engineering activities and responsible for organisational efficiency and effectiveness. Hicham has been with Valeo since 2011. Before that he was with Intel as a Business Development Manager since 1999 leading government BDM for Egypt, Levant and North Africa . Hicham received his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University in 1994, M.Sc. in Computer Engineering in 1999 from West Virginia University, and his MBA from Arizona State University in 2003.
Dr. Wael Farag Cairo University
Wael Farag is the Head of Group Electronics Expertise and Development Services at Valeo. Dr. Wael obtained his PhD from the University of Waterloo in 2000. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University in 1990, and 1993 respectively. Dr. Wael went through many positions at CNH industrial until he became the Chief Systems Engineer in 2000. He then joined the Electrical Engineering Department at Cairo University in 2003. He then moved to Valeo in 2006, where he moved through different positions before becoming Head of Group Electronics Expertise and Development Services. Dr. Wael has more than 25 patents and technical papers published in refereed international conferences and journals.
Dr. Mohamed Shaalan American Univ. in Cairo
Mohamed Shalan is an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the American University in Cairo (AUC). Shalan received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in computer engineering from Ain Shams University and subsequently received his Ph.D. in computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the AUC, Dr Shalan worked as an assistant professor at Ain Shams University, as an embedded systems architect at Mentor Graphics, and embedded software manager at MindSpeed (Contexant), and a digital ASIC designer at Freescale. Besides his regular academic responsibilities, Shalan participates in consultation activities in his domain. He is also a visiting senior scientist at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) in Cairo, Egypt. Dr Shalan’s research interests include: digital VLSI, low power computing, electronic design automation, computer architecture, mobile computing, and embedded systems. Shalan has published many conference and journal papers and he has four pending patents.
Dr. Maged Ghoneima Ain Shams University
Maged Ghoneima received his B.Sc. (with honors) degree in electronics and communications engineering and M.Sc. degree in electronics from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1997 and 2000 respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, in 2006. During 2002 he was with OEA International. Between 2003 and 2005 he was with the Circuit Research Laboratory, Intel Corporation. He also worked in NVIDA Corporation from 2006, as a Senior Circuit Design Engineer, developing on-chip memory structures for the Tesla and Fermi graphics processing units (GPUs). Dr. Ghoneima is an assistant professor research professor in the Mechatronics Department. He is the author/coauthor of more than 40 technical papers published in refereed international conferences and journals. He holds three granted patents in the area of low-power and high-performance circuit design.
Dr. Yousra Alkabani American Univ. in Cairo
Yousra Alkabani received both her BSc and MSc in electrical and computer engineering from Ain Shams University in 2003 and 2006, respectively. In 2010, she received her PhD in computer science from Rice University, Houston, TX. Dr. Alkabani has been working in the Computer and Systems Engineering department, Ain Shams University, as an assistant professor since 2011. She is currently working as an Assistant professor in the computer science and engineering department at AUC. Her main research interests include hardware security, and low power design, and embedded systems.
Dr. Bassem Amin Ain Shams University
Bassem Abdullah received his PhD. at 2012 from Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept., University of Miami, Florida, USA and his M.Sc. and B.Sc. at 2007 and 2000 respectively from Computer and Systems Engineering Dept., Ain Shams University, Egypt. Abdullah works as an assistant professor at Computer and Systems Engineering Department, Ain Shams University since 2012. Abdullah worked in consultation jobs in many local and international companies and organizations including METI, IBM, Mentor Graphics and ITBuilder Egypt. His fields of interest are embedded systems, pattern recognition, computer architecture, CAD for VLSI and medical imaging.
Dr. Mona Safar Ain Shams University
Mona Safar received her PhD (2011), M.Sc. (2007) and B.Sc. (2004) in Computer Engineering from Ain Shams University. She is currently working as an assistant professor at the department of Computer and Systems Engineering, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Her research interests include reconfigurable computing, application specific architectures, embedded systems, computer-aided design and verification, and electronic system level design.
Eng. Hala ElGohary IBM
Hala El-Gohary is currently leading GDC MEA. Hala joined IBM in 1998 as a software developer in SWG. Hala has overall 20 years in software development and services spanning number of industries. She has over 10 years of leading projects, programs and delivery organizations. Her previous experience includes several roles as practice area leader for embedded systems and global competency leader for the same practice across eight centers around the world in addition to a regional role in MEA leading account management for AMS delivery. Prior to her roles in Global Delivery, she held a number of positions as Delivery Project Executive for GBS projects in Automotive and Public industries and Senior Project Manager as part of SWG. One of the key achievements was her role to bring embedded systems domain into Egypt. Prior to joining IBM, Hala started her career in Citymax (formerly EDS and currently HP) where she was software developer and team leader in the financial services sector. Hala studied engineering in Cairo University and currently working on her MBA from Warwick University in UK.
